About the Bicycle NSW Environmental Trust
The Bicycle NSW Environmental Trust was established in 2003 to promote bicycle riding as an environmentally beneficial means of transport.
The Trust helps Bicycle NSW continue its valuable work of getting more people riding bikes through its program of events, advocacy, community building and membership.

Amazing presentation by bike fanatic and Bicycle NSW Chief Executive Officer, Alex Unwin, whose goal is to contribute to the creation of a vibrant cycling community in our city, improve health, where residents live happier and enjoy our great public places.
Bicycle NSW purpose is "Creating a better environment for Cycling" promoting bicycling as great way to get around our great outdoor spaces in NSW. These activities and public spaces improve our environment, advance economic development, boost and complement our transportation systems, make better recreation for all, and enhance our personal and public health. His presentation will be centred around these main points: why take up bike riding, choosing a bike, where and when to ride, and who to ride with.

Objects of the Trust:
The objects of the Trust are solely for charitable purposes and are as follows:
- To conserve and protect the natural environment through the promotion of bicycling as an environmentally beneficial means of transport;
- To promote the use of the bicycle as a key element of ecologically sustainable development practices;
- To promote bicycle transport as a means of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving air and water quality, reducing non-renewable energy consumption, and improving land use; and
- To promote the use of the bicycle as a healthy, environmentally sustainable means of enhancing accessibility and personal mobility in the community.
